We created WELAB BIOTECH to approach thinning hair and scalp concerns with scientific rigour, purposeful formulation and long-term thinking.

Meet the Founder

Alena Weissenbaeck, Founder of WELAB BIOTECH | Hair Practitioner, IAT

My path into hair and scalp care was not a conventional one.

I’m Alena Weissenbaeck, founder and managing director of WELAB BIOTECH, a Vienna-based hair and scalp care brand.

My professional background combines finance with 13 years of entrepreneurship in the beauty and wellness sector. Finance taught me to approach decisions through analysis, discipline and evidence. I brought the same mindset into product development: questioning assumptions, examining the available data and looking beyond fashionable ingredients and ambitious marketing claims.

As my interest in hair and scalp science developed, I earned the Hair Practitioner certification from the International Association of Trichologists. I am currently continuing my training toward trichologist certification.

I founded WELAB BIOTECH to bring together analytical thinking, first-hand wellness experience and an evidence-conscious approach to cosmetic formulation. Our first product, the Advanced Multi-Peptide Scalp Serum, was developed for visibly thinning hair and long-term scalp care. I followed its development through every stage and have personally used the final formula since December 2025.

WELAB BIOTECH is built around intelligent multi-target formulations, realistic claims and the principle of hair longevity: caring for the scalp and helping maintain healthier-looking, resilient hair over time.
